Description

The trunks have an average height of 18-30 m, maximum 45 m. The log is up to 15 m long and has a diameter of 1.2-1.8 m. The oak can reach a high age (400 years).

Oak has a yellow-brown colour. The structure and quality vary depending on the growing conditions. The veneer may contain mirrors. The grain is coarse. The sapwood of oak is white in colour and can be easily distinguished.

In general, however, oak is easy to machine, turn and mill, both by machine and by hand.

Oak has many applications: interior and exterior joinery, beams, luxury furniture (oak cabinetry), stairs, parquet flooring and many more.
